Ambling is a self help group, with members taking it in turn to lead
about one walk during the season. After each amble a local hostelry is
generally visited for lunch. For details of the organiser click
Walks generally start at 10.30am. Please arrive early enough to order food if necessary.
Where possible the Directions include a link to the streetmap website to enable members to view and print scalable a map of the destination. Postcodes, when known, are shown, but take care using these with Satnav as they sometimes mislead! The map is more accurate in all cases. A link to the website of the venue is also given where known.
Please advise leader(s) of walks if you are Walking or just Lunching so they can advise the Venue. The leader will respond to an email to confirm its receipt.

The walk will start from The Wheatsheaf Inn at Grayswood Rd, Grayswood, Postcode GU27 2DE. It has a car park.
After a recce, we have decided that Frillinghurst Wood is likely to be too muddy, so we have decided instead on an anti-clockwise 3-mile route, all East of Grayswood Road, which will involve a couple of short moderate climbs on roads, near the beginning. Then it's either downhill or flat, for the rest of the way. No stiles or railway lines to cross. There is likely to be some mud, so we recommend that everyone wears boots or wellies and brings a stick.
The pub have agreed to give us access to their toilets from 10 am. Those having lunch will need to order this on the morning, before our 10.30 am start.
|April 24th||Barbara McKenzie||Thursley Common
We will meet at 10.30 outside the Three Horse Shoes pub in Thursley which will be open and we can choose our menu then (The menu is available on the pub website - click above).
Directions: From Haslemere take the A286 towards Milford, then one mile after going through Brook take the left turn onto Lea Coach Road and then left onto the A3 (beware fast traffic - it may be easier to continue on the A286 to Milford and join there). Thursley is the first turning off the southbound A3, it is half a mile and is well signposted, the Three Horse Shoes pub is on the left as you enter the village. There are no hills or styles, should the weather be wet we would advise sticks.
